Collecting
data
You have agreed to a
number of measures in the AP that will directly or indirectly result in more
efficient energy consumption. Your organization is prepared for energy
management and the measures have been implemented in accordance with the energy
plan.

The question now is
whether the measures have the desired effect. This cannot be determined by
simply recording the meter readings. The data must be correctly analyzed, and
that requires more than just the meter readings.
What kinds of data are
needed? Data that will enable you to compare the energy
consumption with a reference value and with which you can explain the
improvement or deviation. Thus you must not simply start to collect
data. What you need is a proper reference. The major influential factors must
also be recorded: data regarding the machines (technology), regarding the
organization, and regarding the production (volumes, times).
